Benefits of League Membership

Joining the League of Women Voters is a great way to get involved in your community and play an active role in democracy. As a member of the League, you will:

  • Belong to a nonpartisan, grassroots organization creating positive change
  • Connect with others who share your commitment to democracy
  • Gain experience in advocacy, public speaking, research, and more
  • Shape the policy decisions that affect your life
  • Foster thoughtful dialog on a broad range of issues
  • Help preserve our civil rights and liberties

When you join your local League (LWVS-KC), you automatically join the League of Women Voters of Washington (LWVWA) and the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS). Membership is open to people 16 years of age and older.


Together League members are a powerful force working across the US to empower voters and defend democracy. We’d love to have you join us!

Membership Levels

Memberships are for 12 months and include State and National League membership.

  • Individual $85
  • Household (two individuals who reside at the same address) $130
  • Students (individuals age 16 or older who are enrolled either full or part-time in an accredited institution) $10
  • Pay What You Can begins at $5

Amplify the work of the League by adding an extra level of giving to your Individual Membership. Look for Booster, Contributing, Supporting, and Sustaining Level additions in step 6 of the signup process.
